1. What are you trying to do and accomplish? The goal is to
provide low cost NASCAR sponsorship to generate funds for the start-up of a successful
local short track racing team that competes in the Late Model Stock Car (LMSC)
division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. My short term goal is to get $30,000 to purchase equipment
and have weekly racing funds to compete at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, Virginia and other tracks in and
around Virginia. I do not have enough disposable income to finance the racing alone. This
is why Pixel Racer was created, the hope is to generate enough money to go local short track racing
and beyond. This venture may never make it to the ranks of the Sprint Cup, but I would like to at
least make it to the "NASCAR Camping World Series" which races cars similar to the ones in the Nationwide
Series and the old cup car. The pixel prices vary, depending on the item the will be anywhere
from $0.25/pixel to $1.00/pixel for a year of sponsorship.
Anyone is welcome to purchase the pixels on the virtual racecar,
which is available on most items in 100 pixel blocks (each measuring 10x10 pixels).
Several items are available for sponsorship. This is a racing operation, so multiple
items will be available for sponsorship (car, hauler, etc).
You may sponsor a region as long as the block is visible on the
buy page. After you sponsor your desired region you can add an image,
text, and your website url associated with your sponsored region.
The image will be linked to your website and your preferred text
will be displayed. I want to site to remain family friendly, please
do not upload any obscene or offensive images. Text must also be clean.
The sponsored items will be displayed on the site for the agreed
sponsorship duration. The sponsored items will be archived at the
conclusion of each racing season. These archived images will be available
for several years.

2. Who are you? My name is Jason Griscavage,
I live in Springfield, Virginia. I am an engineering graduate from
George Mason University and have been working as a Software Engineer
for about 10 years. I have always had an insatiable desire for speed,
many engineers do not, but I broke the mold. It's hard to tell where
I got the speed bug. I grew up skiing and was a terror on the slopes
at age 3 years old. I've been ranked in the top 10 in Virginia a few times and
finished 3rd in a ProAm Giant Slalom event at Snowshoe in West Virginia.
Through the years I've become highly experienced in the operation of
ATVs, boats, sport bikes, dirt bikes, and really fast cars. There isn't
much out there with a motor that I haven't driven including forklifts,
yachts, and I used to fly a Piper Cherokee. I have recently started
Road Racing Karts. I've raced these 100mph rockets for 2 full seasons,
in that time I've had numerous wins and have won 3 championships.
I've raced at Virginia International Raceway (full course & north course),
Summit Point Raceway (Shenandoah & Main Track), and Roebling Road. These
tracks are full road courses ranging from 1.9 miles to 3.25 miles.

3. Is this real? It might sound a little
strange, but yes, this is for real. We are goin' racing. The short
term goal is $30k, that number may not be high enough to compete in
each race, but it is a start. If the sponsorship amount was double
to triple that amount, I would be a contender for wins immediately.
I'm not a person that is satisfied just riding; I prefer to be running up front.
When the sponsorship total reaches $35k, I will attempt to aquire
the car. At $35k, the car will be great, but the week to week funds
for tires, fuel, oil, pitt passes, damage, etc might be a little weak.
I'm selling these pixels because I want to take my racing to the next
level.
I hope to get a few million dollars to try my hand at the Craftsman
Truck series and/or Nationwide series. I would love for this to turn
into something that would make it possible. So, please, buy some pixels.

4. As a sponsor, what do I get?
A sponsor of blocks on the virtual racecar will be able to display
an image in the sponsored region. A text description of your choice
will be shown when hovering over the image. Also, the image can be
linked to your website. These settings can be controlled from your
account. This information will also be available on a sponsorship
page showing all sponsors. The actual car will have pixelracer.com
in large letters on the car. The virtual car will fund the real car
which will advertise pixelracer.com. People visiting pixelracer.com
will be able to view the sponsored regions with their advertisements.
I would like to put all sponsor stickers on the car, these stickers
would need to be approved by NASCAR. I decided that I will attempt to
get a sponsor sticker on the car if the sponsorship amount is over
$750.

5. What are your racing credentials?
I have road raced in the Woodbridge Kart Club (WKC), Super 1 Series, US Karting
Grand Prix, and the World Karting Association (WKA) for the past few years.
Here are my non-illegal racing statistics:
| 45 | total races |
| 13 | wins |
| 11 | 2nds |
| 3 | 3rds |
| 29 | top fives |
| 41 | top tens |
| 2 | class track records |
These kart races are usually 45 minutes long on road racing courses with
top speeds around 100mph. My racing career is quite young, but not my desire for speed. After all,
I learned how to drive a stick-shift at 12 years old. I have
and interesting mix of skills that I bring to the track. I'm an engineer, so
I'm very analytical in thoughts and practices, I have a strong desire to
win, and I don't typically repeat mistakes. Well, except not getting enough
heat in the tires. Also, I should use the brakes more, oh well. Other
than that I fair ok.

6. What will you do with the money?
The money will be used to finance the race team. This will include
everything associated with the racing operation (cars, hauler, and weekly
racing funds). As a newbie at circle track stockcar racing, I need to
walk before I can run. Initially my focus will be highly car/engine
centric. I will keep overhead very low. After all, the goal is to go
racing, not drive a fancy truck, or have an insane hauler. The things
that are important to me are the things that go on the track.
I'm always looking ahead. Have I thought about racing in the
Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series, or Craftsman Truck Series? You bet,
do I have the personal finances to actually accomplish, no. This
website is a start. As a first generation racer, I'm hoping to get
my feet wet racing at local short tracks. In the near term, this
is the goal. If the website is successful, I will take the racing
to the next level. I am a software engineer, I have worked very hard
to make it where I am today. I dream of racing full time, to race
I need money, more than I have. To race full time, this site would
need to do really well. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm not quitting
my day job yet.

7. Why should I become sponsor?
You will have an advertisement and link to your website which could
potentially send millions of people to your website. If you are
a race fan, you will get the satisfaction of knowing that your dollars
will be spent directly financing a race team. I don't really know
how to get a high dollar corporate sponsor. This site is an attempt at
gaining sponsorship from companies or individuals with intense passion
for motorsports that have smaller advertising budgets. The actual cars
will have pixelracer.com on the side; this will be another outlet for the
car itself to generate web traffic to the site and ultimately allowing
clicks to come to the sponsor's site. I will archive the cars/equipment
available for sponsorship each year. You will be able to see the images
with your sponsored region for many years.

8. Will the races be on TV?
Most if not all of the NASCAR sanctioned local short track races at Old Dominion
Speedway in Manassas, Virginia will be televised on a local cable channel. These races are the first step,
if I can get enough sponsorship to explore other racing divisions, I'll jump on it.
The second step will be to be a field a "NASCAR Camping World Series" car. These cars
are very similar to NASCAR Nationwide Series cars. These NASCAR Grand National Division
races are televised live on HDNet and re-broadcasted on Speed TV. With the success
of the site, there is no doubt that I will field one of these machines. The "NASCAR
Camping World Series" has events at Loudon, Watkins Glen, Dover, many other exciting
tracks. Sign me up!!! This next step will take a lot more sponsorship dollars, something
to the tune of a few hundred thousand to run a full season. Initially I would hope to do
a few. The "NASCAR Camping World Series" car will be on the site soon.

9. How long can I sponsor a block?
That depends on the amount of time that you sponsor a region. I will have different
levels of sponsorship options. Opportunities exist on a single year and
multiple year basis. As the racing season ends, I will create a snapshot in some
fashion of the sponsored items for that year. The links on the snapshots will be
disabled; I will keep the snapshots around for at least 5 years, and possibly beyond.

10. If you are not able to purchase a racecar and race it with these funds, what will happen with the money?
My goal is to receive enough sponsorship funds to start a stock car racing team. Any sponsorship
funds will be used for the acquisition and racing operations of a Late Model Stock Car or similar
racecar. I'm not able to personally fund the entire racing operation, but I am ready, willing, and
able to be a high contributor. In the case that I am not able to acquire and race a stock car in at
least one race by the 2010 season, I will donate 50 percent of all of the sponsored funds to a
charity of your choice.

11. Who created your website?
I did on my own to keep costs down.
I would like to give a special thank you to my wife Jessica for being so supportive,
as I have spent countless hours on the website.

12. Are you insane?
Maybe a little. This site is an attempt to make it to places that I've never been.
You never know until you try. So, this site is my try. Whatever you do, whatever you
try, to be successful you much put yourself in a position for success. I have a few
unique skills that are not usually combined. I love speed, I love winning, maybe
a little too much. My competitive nature mixed with my engineering background suits
me well for racing. Please, become a sponsor.
